In our ongoing collaboration with the :AJNA: record imprint, White Dog Music proudly announces the final reissue of the definitive Lucifer Rising motion picture soundtrack anthology.
While this LP boxed set is identical in most respects to the earlier pressings of this title, there is one very significant difference. Destined to be the crown jewel in many record collections, Bobby BeauSoleil’s timeless masterwork is now resplendent in Luciferian color right down to the vinyl it’s pressed into. To commemorate the Suite in this its last reissue in LP format we are distinguishing it from previous issues by pressing each of the four disks in its own unique combination of colored vinyl, with colors selected to compliment the label and sleeve art for each of the eight sides. Using techniques that allow the transparent and opaque colored vinyl to meet and blend organically assures that each disk and set of disks is like no other.

This anthology documents the entire Lucifer Rising soundtrack project from its earliest beginnings in 1967 to its ultimate completion and delivery to the filmmaker in 1979. In addition to the actual soundtrack, alternate themes, musical and soundscape experiments, and some live performances are contained in the box set. All of those recordings were acquired from the original open reel tapes and meticulously restored and mastered for vinyl by Robert Ferbrache. All four disks have individual cardboard sleeves featuring original paintings by Bobby BeauSoleil symbolizing the stations of the journey, culminating in a reproduction of his painting The Long Way Home on a 2ft. by 3ft. poster. The accompanying booklet contains three perspectives on the project written by Michael Moynihan, Dennis Dread and the composer himself. Timo Ketola’s skill as an artist is evident in the design of the package and some graphical elements; with Dennis Dread supplying the darkly magnificent front and back cover art for the box.
